Mission ---

The purpose of Academic Research Computing is to provide compute power for the research community at UMKC.

Available systems include a VMS cluster, Tru64 server, Itanium 2 server and a Beowulf cluster.

Hardware ---

CCTR

CCTR is a Digital Alphaserver 4100 running HP VMS 7.2.

It consists of 4 533 MHz 64bit CPUs with 2Gb memory and is accessible using TELNET, FTP, SSH or SCP.

It supports VMSMail using MX 5.1 and HTTP using OSU Webserver 3.9a.

It consists of 4 667 MHz 64bit CPUs with 8Gb memory and is accessible using TELNET, FTP, SSH or SCP.

It supports PINE 4.21 using Qmail.

CCTR, Hilbert and Sirius Usage

Over the past 12 months, Hilbert has averaged 87% utilization and CCTR has averaged 38%. Sirius is a new system but is currently running at 100%.

Wulfy is a MOSIX cluster based on the Slackware 8.1 distribution of GNU Linux.

It consists of 24 Intel Pentium machines and is accessible using SSH or SCP only.

A SW500 cabinet housing 36 shared medium-speed disks in 8 split-partitioned RAID arrays using HSZ-50 FWD SCSI controllers providing 120 Gigabytes of disk storage, and 3 DSSI disks providing 6 Gigabytes of disk storage.

An ESA10000 cabinet housing 24 shared high-speed disks in 4 RAID arrays using HSZ-70 FWD SCSI controllers providing 264 Gigabytes of disk storage.
